Volunteers in Medicine is pleased to announce Howard Lincoln as this year's recipient of the community 2023 VIMY Award.
VIM Executive Director, Doug Morin, shared, “This event is an important one for us as our primary fundraising event each year. To recognize Howard Lincoln for the tremendous impact he has made through his ministry, volunteer work and support of many of our Valley’s nonprofit and healthcare organizations is an honor for us.”
The VIMY Award recognizes an individual or organization who has made significant contributions to healthcare in our Coachella Valley. Prior honorees include Desert Healthcare District & Foundation and Dr. Ronald Hare, local businessman and philanthropist.
We are excited to announce entertainment by the Mockingbird Hitmaker’s Series which includes, Clay Mills, Anthony Smith and Brett Jones – this musical series includes intimate performances with some of Nashville’s best and prolific award-winning songwriters, telling the stories behind their hits and performing as originally written. We are putting together some exclusive experiences – where can you bid on a dinner in your home prepared by our emcee Patrick Evans and Howard Lincoln?!?!
The net proceeds from this event benefit Volunteers in Medicine. We provide a local solution to a national problem. We offer medical services at no cost to adults in the Coachella Valley who have no insurance. As a community safety net, our clinic treats the whole person by addressing chronic diseases (like high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis), acute conditions (colds, flu), preventive medicine, diet, and emotional health. VIM is a member of Volunteers in Medicine, a national nonprofit alliance with more than 90 free clinics across the U.S., whose mission is to provide healthcare services in a compassionate, caring way to our neighbors in need.
THE LIVE AUCTION
The VIMY Awards is held each year at the renowned Thunderbird Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, a location synonymous with the Desert lifestyle. In addition to the lavish surroundings, guests of this much-anticipated event are treated to delectable appetizers and an exquisite pre-auction meal courtesy of the Thunderbird's inspired culinary team.
